Maryland Bill Opens Sunday Deer Hunting in Prince George’s County

Maryland House Bill 615 would allow deer hunting during every Sunday of the firearm and archery seasons on both public and private land in Prince George’s County. HB 615 has a hearing on Feb. 26 at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be conducted via Zoom and you can stream it here on YouTube.

Take Action! Maryland members should contact their delegate and urge them to support House Bill 615 and all other Sunday hunting bills. Maryland members can find their legislators by using the Sportsmen’s Alliance Legislative Action Center.

Currently, Sunday deer hunting is prohibited in Prince George’s County. This bill will allow Sunday hunting during all 21 Sundays of the deer hunting season on both public and private lands.

“We applaud the Prince George’s County delegation for expanding Sunday hunting opportunities for sportsmen,” said Jacob Hupp associate director of state services at the Sportsmen’s Alliance. “Sunday hunting in this county will allow local hunters an opportunity to leverage a traditional non-working day to pursue their passion.”
