DSC is happy to announce the newest chapter to its growing Chapter system – the Carolina Foundation Chapter.
Based in Charlotte, NC, Chapter President Tim Wakefield is excited to support conservation efforts in the Carolinas.
“We are thrilled to announce the founding of the Carolina Foundation of DSC!” Wakefield said. “Being selected as the founding president of the DSC Carolina Foundation is quite humbling. This is a position that can truly make a positive difference to the outdoors and people of all ages. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the Carolinas through the DSC Carolina Foundation and am committed to its success.
“DSC’s Carolina Foundation is dedicated to educating youth, supporting veterans, and promoting those who respect the majesty of the outdoors. The DSC Carolina Foundation’s mission is to champion wildlife conservation by fostering a harmonious balance between the preservation of natural habitats and the responsible enjoyment of outdoor activities. We are dedicated to promoting conservation, hunting, and fishing opportunities as sustainable practices that contribute to the overall well-being of ecosystems.”
Locally, the group will strive to educate and engage our community in the importance of conservation.
“Through educational programs, we aim to raise awareness about the delicate balance between human activities and the environment, fostering a deep appreciation for the diversity of wildlife,” Wakefield added. “Internationally, we extend our commitment by supporting efforts to enhance conservation initiatives abroad. By collaborating with global partners, we contribute to the protection of endangered species and the preservation of critical habitats, ensuring a lasting impact on the health of our planet. At DSC Carolina Foundation, we believe that through responsible stewardship, community involvement, and international cooperation, we can create a world where wildlife thrives, and future generations can continue to enjoy the rich tapestry of our natural heritage.
If this mission resonates with you, come join us on our quest to make a positive difference.”
The Carolina Foundation Chapter joins an ever-growing number of DSC Chapters across the country. DSC Chapters keep or direct 95 percent of the money that they raise to projects of their choosing.
