GOABC Awards DSC’s Mike Wilmot the 2024 Fair Chase Award

DSC Great Lakes Chapter President Mike Wilmot was recently recognized by the Guide Outfitters Association of British Columbia as their 2024 Fair Chase Award Recipient.

The Fair Chase Award was established by the GOABC in 2012 to recognize an individual who has made a significant contribution to help further conservation and stewardship within the province of British Columbia and beyond its borders.  The recipient of this award is chosen by the Board of Directors.

“One of the best things about this business – and one of the greatest rewards in our lives as guides and outfitters – is the people we meet,” stated Stewart Fraser who presented the award to his longtime friend.  “In our lifetime, we rarely get to meet a true gentleman, and Mike Wilmot is one of those.”

After the award was presented, GOABC CEO Scott Ellis stated, “It always warms my heart when a class act like Mike is recognized for his efforts in conservation.”

Along with representing the DSC Great Lakes Chapter, Mike also serves as a DSC Vice President and Chapter Liaison.
