The NJ Marine Fisheries Council’s Spiny Dogfish Committee will hold a public meeting on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 5:00 pm virtually. The meeting link can be found below. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a 59.4% reduction in the coastwide commercial quota for spiny dogfish during the 2023/24 fishing season (May 1-April 30). Further discussion will be on the potential to decrease the current daily trip limit of 7,500 pounds to prevent premature harvest of the quota.
